Sanctuary by Pauline Creeden Book Review

SanctuaryLeft Behind for the Hunger Games generation

In a heart-racing thriller described as Falling Skies meet The Walking Dead, Jennie struggles to find a safe place for what’s left of her family. But it seems as though there is no place sacred, no place secure. First the aliens attacked the sun, making it dimmer, weaker, and half what it used to be. Then they attacked the water supply, killing one-third of Earth’s population with a bitter contaminate. And when they unleash a new terror on humankind, the victims will wish for death, but will not find it…

When the world shatters to pieces around her, will Jennie find the strength she needs to keep going?

Antionette’s Review –

One day we were attacked by aliens. Seems far fetched until you read on. The idea of aliens invading and attacking a quarter of the world isn’t so far fetched. Jennie is the main character , a college student who’s home for the summer after the first attack … As the story goes on, you see how people would survive. At first they hoped it was the one attack but then another comes, this time to spread a virus to kill each other. You see how the world copes with just devastation. And how the rapture could be presented in such a different way than angels and horns and fire. Devastation in such a maybe more real way. A way many non believers could cope and except it. I really enjoyed this story. The end is left to definetly have a follow up book. Or left as is. I was drawn into each of the characters,, in such a real caring way. You hoped everyone would survive. Again, realistically , that’s just not how it is. And people change when in danger or their lives are flipped upside down. Some for the better

Pauline Creeden is a horse trainer from Virginia, but writing is her therapy. In her fiction, she creates worlds that are both familiar and strange, often pulling the veil between dimensions. She becomes the main character in each of her stories, and because she has ADD, she will get bored if she pretends to be one person for too long.
